I have had the pleasure of working with Time Out to Travel for a little over a year. My role in the company has grown from being an intern to a Digital Marketing and Design Associate for their team. As you read on, I have highlighted the work I have done over the past year.
I've learned the in's and out's of a small travel company, one that has multiple target audiences within a niche market. I have enjoyed visiting the limits of my comfort zone to take on roles in email marketing and social media, where I was required to do some self-teaching and individual research. I have improved my skills in digital marketing, while also becoming more confident in my skills as a visual designer.

June 2018 - Present
To begin the logo design process, I sat down with Gail Barnett, the founder of Time Out To Travel, to develop her vision for brand development. She hoped to bring aspects of the ocean into the overall aesthetic, which helps represent the travel destinations she offers.
I started with seven different design concepts, all in the same color scheme. Once we made a decision on a clear concept, we worked to find the perfect font and color combination to fit the overall brand look and feel for Time Out to Travel.
After choosing the final logo design, I created various marketing materials including business cards, letterheads, factsheets, and promotional marketing emails. For each piece, I created a simple design with a lot of white space surrounding the logo to utilize proximity and alignment. I incorporated aqua brush strokes and a shaded blue design that resembles a wave, to add interest, while also maintaining a level of simplicity.
Using MailChimp, promotional marketing e-mails were sent out to various clients that have been collected and segmented over time. A few times each month, email blasts were designed with compelling content, images, and subject lines. To track success over time, the open rates, clicks, and conversions of each campaign were continually measured. Below are some snapshots of a typical email blast:
One of my main roles within Time Out to Travel has been web design and content management. I continually update the website with new retreat dates and information about featured leaders and destinations. I regularly communicate with the head web master any needed changes that take place in the back end of the website. Below are some wireframes and visual changes I made using Adobe XD and Illustrator.
