A simple, yet intuitive mobile application designed for spontaneous travelers looking for a way to plan, log, and share all of their unique experiences.
Travel Buddy originated from a UI design homework assignment. I was given full freedom and about a day to choose an original idea and build on it to design a creative mobile application. We were required to identify a problem statement, sketch out wireframes, then develop these screens into a high fidelity digital prototype.
After backpacking in South East Asia for a little over seven weeks in early 2019, I discovered how relevant and useful this concept would be for an app, and I felt there weren't any standout apps on the market that fulfilled the needs of a modern vagabond, digital nomad, or wandering backpacker. I am currently in the process of revisiting this project and using my ever-growing UX/UI design knowledge to recreate what I had originally thought up over-night. I am currently transforming Travel Buddy into a realistic, fully functioning prototype with a unique interaction and motion design. Today Travel Buddy is known as ________ (coming soon).

May 2018 (overnight), revised July 2019 - Present
Below are the original designs I created back in May 2018. I had originally envisioned an introduction screen that would span throughout one horizontal image, moving farther to the right as the user completed each step, but didn't end up fulfilling this vision. This is something I hope to change moving forward. I wanted the look and feel of the app to embody bright, bold adventure and excitement, something I hope to transcend to the final product.
As I take a second stab at designing and building my desired Travel App, I plan on using this opportunity to strengthen my skills in UX/UI design, specifically Mobile App Design. Below are the goals I plan to accomplish:
